Tailgating Skier Style

Each spring the BBQ’s and lawn chairs get dusted off and brought out.  This isn’t your ordinary warm weather backyard BBQ that can be found in cities across the nation.  This is a down and sometimes a little dirty lower lot party at Brundage Mountain Ski Resort.  When the slopes turn from powder to spring slurp and the sun comes out, you can find the McCall locals hanging out in the lower lot tailgating.  The smell of burgers and the sounds of music fill the air.  The adults spend their time grilling and chilling with friends.  While the kids and dogs can be found running and playing.  The lower lot is a community gathering spot.  It is all very Idaho.

On any given weekend throughout the ski season you will find folks grilling and tailgating in the lower lot.  But it’s when the sun is shining, the weather warms up, and the calendar tells us it’s supposed to be spring that the party really gets going.  Spring skiing and sunshine bring out the lower lot revelers in mass.  You will find season pass holders spending the whole day eating, drinking, and socializing with friends without even putting a ski boot on.  Those who do manage to ski a few runs are usually done by lunch time and ready to break out the beer and join in the good cheer.  Tailgating in the lower lot is a true McCall tradition.  We don’t get too many sunny warm days in March and April but when we do; we all head to our favorite parking lot.  We welcome you to come up and join the fun; the lot is muddy, the snow is slush, the beer is cold, the food is good, and the locals are friendly.
